Microsoft have announced that they are expanding the Windows Developer Program for IoT by delivering a version of Windows 10 that supports Raspberry Pi 2. This release of Windows 10 will be free for the Maker community through the Windows Developer Program for IoT.
Windows 10 is the first step to an era of more personal computing. This vision framed the work on Windows 10, moving Windows to a world that is more mobile, natural and grounded in trust. With the Windows for IoT developer program Microsoft are bringing their leading development tools, services and ecosystem to the Raspberry Pi community!
The Raspberry Pi 2
The Raspberry Pi 2 Model B is roughly six times more powerful than the prior version, the Model B+, according to the British charity behind it.
Previous versions of the kit have been widely adopted by schools and enthusiasts across the world .
Because it has an ARMv7 processor, it can run the full range of ARM GNU/Linux distributions, including Snappy Ubuntu Core, as well as Microsoft Windows 10.
